ABOUT THE PROJECT
In celebration of six decades of service, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation is proud to present "60 for 60," a storytelling project that honors the people, partnerships, and progress that have shaped our community. This series captures firsthand accounts from nonprofit leaders, donors, board members, and changemakers who have contributed to the Foundation’s impact throughout the years.
Unveiled at the Foundation’s annual meeting and launched in 2024 to commemorate BRAF’s 60th anniversary, "60 for 60" reflects the vision of our 12 founding members who, in 1964, set out to build a better Baton Rouge. Their commitment laid the groundwork for decades of transformational work, revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding access to mental health care, supporting disaster recovery, and creating opportunities for education and economic growth. For sixty years, the Foundation has served as a catalyst for change, aligning resources, ideas, and people around a shared goal: to improve the quality of life in Baton Rouge and beyond.
Each story is a testament to the power of partnership and the meaningful change that occurs when communities come together. Explore the complete video series and be inspired by the stories that continue to shape our region across the past, present, and future.
